The bad thing is if you are just selling some "extra "items and not running a business. If they are going to tax you on sales then you get to claim a cost basis. But if you are not running a business you probably have no idea of somethings original cost. And if I loan you $1000 and you use paypal to pay me back why should I have to pay taxes on it? It is not income.
