Hi Dave,
I had heard that Paul Bender had died within the last year, but I went to the local shop that used to sell this book of his. I actually met his widow, Barb, who was helping out there!

She was very kind, and after giving my condolences I inquired if any of Paul's books were still available.
She immediately went to the trunk of her car where she had stashed one and brought it back inside for me to purchase.
Turns out she only had 3 copies left and isn't planning to do another print run, so I feel very fortunate.
She also tossed in a vintage chip from one of the local illegal casinos she had with her (Greyhound Club) and a card with her home phone number on it in case I had further questions!

So much cool illegal casino history here in this tiny town on the Ohio River!
