I discovered what I think is a variation in the Palace Station $1 CIC BJ chips.

On the right is CG006183

The chip on the left looks 'bolder'. It's like it was either struck harder or deeper or with a slightly larger font all around. The scan picks it up, but the difference is ever more noticeable in person.
