Years ago a few MOP experts in California and Texas were able to date chips by the methods used and depth and even knew how sharp a graver was and were able to tell when dull... Sadly, they are no longer with us.One collected only Zappot and would travel Europe with his son and especially looking for the rare madreperla in Italia.
