A Suds Bearcat? Looks like something the Munsters

would drive! My first car was a '63 VW beetle bought from a college roommate in Florida who (for some reason) refused to turn over the title document so I could register it in my name. I drove the car to New York but was unable to sell it and finally had to take it to a mafiosi scrap yard in Elmsford. Forgot how I got home - too far to walk . . . maybe took a bus? And when I got home I remembered I'd left the house keys in the car!

In a shade of things to come, the VW once got stuck on the railroad tracks in Coral Gables. I had to push it off before the next train hurtled by. I was a lot younger then and pushing stuck cars off tracks was just another adventure, nothing to worry about.
