I have to admit I have a bias because I only collect Nevada chips, so a TCR# is just fine for me most of the time. I DO have a number of non-Nevada chips and a handful of international ones as well, so that's where a CG# is a must. So, yes, the more universal number would be the one in the chipguide, so that's a good point.
