Joel, I was at Viejas the week they opened, and they absolutely were on the tables. At the time, the only place I had ever seen these beautiful, heavy chips was in northern Nevada, and I was shocked when I walked in the place. I played poker and pai gow poker, and these were the only chips being used on every game. I will tell you that I heard more than a couple of complaints about them while there, and although I can’t nail it down, I returned in a few weeks and the brass were all gone, and the first issue of clays were being used. In a related story, I was at the opening of the Top of the Vine Card Club also, which didn’t even have enough players to start the first game with their brass chips when I got there. I played in the first hand in a new cardroom, and they took several pictures for who knows what. The owner, who I believe was also instrumental in reincarnating the Reliable brass chip company was on hand and was very proud of his brass chips, openly encouraging players to take some as souvenirs and even showing off the $500 at the table.
