I should add that my desk display is comprised of the airtites laying on (modern) stained wood. No glue or guides or other underlayment. I then lay a vinyl desk mat over the rows of chips to give me a flat surface, but also to give the chips an extra layer of protection from my elbows, computer, keyboard, phone, etc. often, airtites will “seal” themselves to the vinyl, meaning they stick a little when I lift the edge of the vinyl up, usually to rotate a misbehaving chip that’s trying to press my OCD button. The airtites that I replaced were randomly placed, so I can’t say those at the edges or under the feet of my monitor or under my computer were affected any greater or lesser than the others.
