75¢ or 78¢, the butterfly stamp needed is marked "Forever" so it is a hedge against price increases. Think the P.O. is charging more right now to cover the cost of Christmas since the Postmaster General has asked for a Pony under his tree. You can TRY sending without the non-machineable designation for one stamp but don't come back on this site cryin' your eyes out when your chip does not arrive and you have no recourse to track it down. Pony ate it!
