Spending time in Fernley recently, I had time to do a little digging on the Lighthouse Bar.
A previous post showed ashtrays and match covers and chips are also known. I had found
it listed in my 1950 phone book. Anyway, I located a book on Fernley's early days (in the
library of all places) that showed a photo (postcard) of the place. I called the lady who wrote
the book and she spent 20 minutes telling me about the bar and the early days of Fernley.
She worked in the adjoining Mae's Cafe and said Mae Stock built the place. Mae also had the
Silver Spur Bar across the street. The bar was located at the intersection of Main Street and
Hwy 95A. A used car lot is located there now.
