~~~ even when the edge was finished you could feel and see the ends of the mesh as it met the edge... especially years later when the laminates shrunk and the thread didn't.

The table manufacturers loved the manufacture which played a number on the felt due to the exposed resin-dipped mesh.

I have articles showing the edges in different stages of being worn... Boring.
