I traced the phone number backwards, to see if I could find out anything interesting...other bar names, or whatever. I don't know if it qualifies as interesting, but here's what I found....

In 1931 the phone number belonged to John C Riemann "farmer"

In 1933 the phone number wasn't listed. Mrs John C Riemann had the phone number 429

In 1937 the phone number belonged to Watkins Club

In 1938 the phone number belonged to Watkins Club

In 1939 the phone number belonged to Family Bar

In 1945 the phone number belonged to "Larrouy, J Centerville" (I couldn't find "Pride of the West" listed)

In 1951 the phone number belonged to J S V Bar

In 1956, 1957, and 1958 the phone number for J S V Bar was 3881

That's where I ran out of phone books that I could check...
