I picked up some graphics arts / pin stripping tape on amazon. Seems to stick well even after being removed from (clean) template and put onto chip holder. Use fine tip indelible marker.

Then made an aluminum template with 7 - 1.25" fine cut lines for writing and sizing of the labels. Makes enough for 1 1/3 boxes of 168.

My first mistake was putting labels on first, no find a template to write the numbers on a good flat surface. Vicki's recommendation!
