Things seem to be changing in the "World of Gas Pump Sticker Collecting" at least in California, Nevada and Arizona. Shown below are the very few Stickers I was able to "Harvest" during my trip to the Convention.
Nevada Stickers are very plain with No Dates, etc. however this has been very true in Nevada over the last 6 or 7 years - the last Sticker I got with a date was marked 13 - 15 for 2013 thru 2015.
The two stickers I got from California (County of Eldorado) Lake Tahoe were dated 2017 and 2018 - I did not see any dated 2019, 2020 or 2021. Also these two Stickers were "Double Stacker Stickers" - I peeled both Stickers of at the same time and later separated them from each other. It is a good thing when this happens - you get two stickers for the price of one. I think the most "Stacker Stickers" I ever got was 4 at the same time - but that is another story.
Unfortunately, it looks like the may have a new system for recording when the Gas Pumps are checked.
In Arizona the Stickers were old and worn out and I couldn't even get any off the pumps when I saw them. I also noticed that there were a lot of pumps in Nevada and Arizona that had NO Stickers. This is an alarming trend to Gas Pump Sticker Collectors (Note - I may be the only active Collector) if they stop using Stickers all together what will we/I have to collect !!
When I get on the road to other States I will let you know if this ALARMING trend of doing away with Gas Pump Stickers is spreading across the Country. On the other hand maybe this may increase the value of the "old" Stickers I have.
I sure wish I had started collecting Stickers back in the 1970s (Does this sound familiar).
Take care,
