That round 76 sign seems "contrived" to them; unknown as a Union Oil station sign. The sign-pole itself looks like a TEXACO or SIGNAL one, "repurposed" to show the 76 shield. The 76 shield signs were die-cut, that is, a shield hung from a bar. But - anything is possible in Pahrump! I have seen all sorts of gasoline station signs in the "wrong" shape, including a CHEVRON in a circle (station used to sell 76) and a SHELL on a globe (another former 76 that some enterprising person covered with a canvas banner), etc., etc.
