I have used these. I have ordered so far three of them and filled them up so another order for 3 more went out. They work great. Each container holds 168 chips (7 in each compartment). Could hold eight in each compartment but it becomes a tight fit. The foam rings (see attached photo) can be sized for small coins all the way up to casino chips. They are not loose at all. Not sure about the "okay for chips".
