The ‘93 auction almost did not come off as planned. There was an ordinance in place at the time that prohibited auctions to be held in Las Vegas casinos due to some bad experiences of auctions held in hotels by Persian rug promoters, fine art, and jewelry merchants. It was only through last minute appeals by Michael Knapp before the city council that Michael was successful in obtaining an exemption for the club that the auction was permitted to be held at the last minute! Good job Michael. The club owes you a BIG thank you!
