I waited in line. I was flagged to a window, where a woman said , YES. I handed her my 4.75 X 7.75 inch padded envelope. It was going to Australia. She felt it, then asked me if it was a letter or other. I told her it was a private item.

This is when she pushed these buttons on the screen, and she turned to her fill and pulled out a 3 copy document, then said $18.78, Please.

I ask, why for such a small package and lite. The answer was because you answered Merchandise.

I said that I was a citizen of the United State and I can not believe the price.

She said, that if it was letter or a small flat envelope and just drop off with out the Document of declaring to Customs it may go though.

How much, she said $3.39. I was so discussed with the Post Master setting these kinds of jacked up rates. They about to, the Congress, fire him NOW !

I also said, tothr lady, she was doing her job, and doing it well.

I sent the news to the Chipper in Australia, and I await his reply.
