Steve, Pearl and I used to play the slots in the North Shore Club whenever we were in Tahoe in the 70s.
They had the only machines that paid $7.50 for 3 bars in any position. One time I was walking by a crap
table and the dealer called me over. He put a $100 chip on the pass line, marked the four, and asked me
if I’d liked to take odds and offered me the dice. I recognized it as a scam and declined. I imagine the casino
looked about the same as when it was Capy Rix’s.
