Does anybody know what companies would have been able to make the sort of mother of pearl gaming pieces that are suggested?
Mainly French I assume? Only place that collectors may find out is through their "orders" perhaps.
I can't remember where but I read that cold, hard cash was probably the order of the day so sovereigns and white fivers upwards I would think.
MOP tokens would have been lovely and I used to like to think that they were classy if they did exist but..........
I can't see the usual spade guineas, Hanover Jacks or any of the other "cheap" versions being utilised.
As already mentioned, the UK is not really on most people's radars so no interest which is why nobody has bothered to find out more I suppose (as mentioned in the initial thread too).
Are the only known casino connected MOP ones from the Aspinalls lot that David had?
I wonder if we will ever know about the Crockford's ones though, pity.
