So, my mom came here to Las Vegas with a couple of friends in 1966. They stayed at the Tropicana. She brought home one of their ashtrays as a souvenir. My dad got the idea to make a plaster mold & then place his polished stones around it, kind of like a jigsaw puzzle. He did a number of them over the years. But just used plain generic ashtrays. They would give them away as presents. I have 3 left which you see here. I never smoked myself, but have them as displays. I change out the casino ashtrays every now & then. 😊
