So you click on the site and the first post you see is that someone says the president is a moron. On a chip collecting site. The chances of this potential newcomer becoming involved with the hobby and joining the CCA are probably zero.

Full disclosure: I'm almost completely out of the hobby, so I realize my opinion doesn't matter much. I once had thousands of chips, and now I'm down to fewer than 100. Advancing age, declining interest on my part, zero interest on the part of my wife and kids and family illnesses have accelerated my departure.

I've been in the club since the '90s. I used to visit the chipboard regularly, and I posted here somewhat frequently. The board used to be the place I would come to get away from politics and other serious issues. Those days are long gone, as evidenced by the latest political thread.

I don't care if you lean left or right, and you know what? Nobody else does, either. Take your political posts to a site where they belong.

You might not care if you're damaging the hobby you claim to enjoy, but rest assured, you are.
