as he once told me the story. Not sure if he was personally up there but he seemed to know the people that were. Supposedly it was a glorious day when chip collectors showed up with buckets and began grabbing all they could find from the sand. I don't know what "security" had to say about the invasion, maybe the property was not fenced or guarded at that time. Think someone (John Marshall?) spotted a single $5 chip poking up out of the sand and that's what started the "Gold Rush."
Oscar, you mention in the video that the Ormsby House was closed. True, insofar as the old hotel and casino are concerned, but they moved a few slot machines into their underground parking lot - to keep the gaming license active! Haven't been there in some years but I think you can still try your luck between the parking lines and see what happens. Beep, beep! Oh, watch out for the cars!
