As i work on cataloging California Chips for Armin's Book I have come across quite a few mysteries and unknowns that I think can be corrected by fellow CA collectors. The first chip to discuss is from the Bakersfield club El Condor

The El Condor Bakersfield 25c chip is listed as having two different versions. A Pink and a Lavender.

When I finally saw one on Ebay a year ago I snapped up thinking woohoo I found a tough variation. This was the chip advertised and the chip I received.

It seems apparent to me that the so called lavender variation is just a scan using old scanning technology. I notified Chipguide and they marked the lavender chip as "old scan". I think this chip should just be removed if it is indeed a bad scan. Does anyone have one of these lavender chips in their possession. If not I move we just remove it all together. Thoughts?
