~~~ I would expect it to be a total madhouse with limited hotel and events availability greater than what took place after WWII; though in this instance in one direction, only... and, though we will not be flying (if we even do decide to travel) but rather go by sea with our destination being Italy, and not via any mega-vessel which would only be lacking the ambiance which suits us... and maybe just two or three hotels (more than likely a pensione) with adequate amenities during a 4-6 week stay with a few overnight stays, depending... and returning on the same ship.

About dining out (with the exception of breakfast); we usually would casually divided dinner into at least two and up to four locations at small restaurants and, knowing the business, we would always inform servers or proprietors, first, along with a portion of a gratuity (no matter...) in advance. It was and is only fair...

...and, yes... of course; the region would be obvious -- though I won't be packing a tux..
