~~~ in order for them not to spread their germs. The shield would be an "added precaution" to protect the eyes and "save on masks" due to aerosols, droplets and airborne spread... and it's basically what Dr. Fauci has been saying all these months about protecting the eyes.

Though, if people aren't wearing their masks, I very much doubt they'll wear a face shield... but, if doctors are recommending it to protect the eyes, it would be a good idea for government to suggest it as well.
