I always liked going into the El Cortez and looking at all the art-deco stuff. When it opened
in 1931 it was the tallest building in Nevada! Bill Fong took it over after the New China Club and
had a bunch of Chinese stuff there. I remember a large, ornate fountain he called a "Fongtain".
I think the place is now a Siegel Suites operation. Kling has a nice write-up.
