Yes, I remember them for sale in the Paulson retail store at the time. All denominations were cancelled with the gold hot stamp pattern, though not the extra hole & notches. I bought 1 of each.

It was the first time I learned how easy it was to remove the hot stamp from an inlay chip, using nail polish remover. A little buffing and most of the cancellation indent was smoothed over.

Maybe the extra cancellations added later to insure they always looked cancelled, regardless of the hot stamp?
