Yes, that Chivet Post chip is associated with Illinois, which would be odd place for California Game Supply Co. to sell their chips. That chip is in the minority of chose "mystery font" chips associated with some place outside California.

The odd thing though, is that I can't find so far that specific font used on ANY chips with a known owner/distributor. I had stated in my original post that two Hub mold chips had that mystery font. I was wrong. I went back to the 52 pages of Hub mold chip listings on the ChipGuide, and they were both mis-categorized chips on other molds. One was SqSqRt and the other Diamond Square. There are some Diamond Square chips with this font. The Diamond Square mold was another open mold open to anyone, as far as I know.

So judging from ChipGuide listings, Mason never used that font on Hub mold chips. The same seems to be true with Langworthy, as according to the ChipGuide no HHR, HHL, or Rectangles chips have that font on them. No Large Crown chips owned by TRK have that font. No L mold chips have that font on them. So far I have just looked at chip molds that I know have been sold in California, and just using the ChipGuide of course.

If you, or anyone else, might know of a known distributor that used that font on any chip ever, I would love to know about it.
