I visited Dale around 20 years ago and during my stay we did a chip deal and I purchased 2500+ Roulette Chips from Dale's Collection. Many nice and rare chips in the bunch. We packed them up the following day and sent them back to Delaware via UPS.
This was after the Big San Francisco Earthquake of 1995 (during the World Series) that destroyed many of Dale's art objects as the entire house shook and items were scattered everywhere. A large TV located on a back bar in his game room literally flew half way across the room and smashed on the floor.
The rarest chips I saw while I was at Dale's were the Emperor Napoleon Bonapart of France Ivory chips with Bees (Royal Symbol) on them that Dale had on display in a cabinet.
I later heard that another collector bought 3 of them from Dale for $5000+ each but I did not know who bought them. A few years later a friend of mine and a fellow chip collector showed me the chips at his shop in Colorado Springs, Colorado when I stopped in to visit him on one of my cross country trips. He was amazed that I knew they were from Dale Seymour's collection. I told him that I had seen the chips on display in Dale's home many years before. It's truly a small World !!
Take care,
Jerry
