Don Leuders hit the same $100k at Caesars Palace maybe 10 years ago. He showed the paperwork to me and David Sarles shortly afterwards.
Don was a real interesting guy. He was a bit of a loner and for many years would come to the shows and never talk about anything but chips.
We got to know him a little better in his later visits, and after he had made a comment 'I wouldn't know, I haven't worked for nearly 50 years', told us he had worked as a consultant (along with the guy mentioned in the article linked below) to IBM inventing the floppy disk drive. Made a fortune from licensing fees and subsequent sale of rights to IBM and retired.
