You should accept that invitation. I've never been on a controlled/guided hunt for wild pigs, but I've heard good things...especially if the hunt is a night hunt. There are a lot of organizations and ranches that offer those.
I hunt occasionally on the King Ranch way down south, and there are plenty of wild pigs there. They can be taken, but you just have to clean up your mess when you're done. On the controlled/guided hunts elsewhere, they have people to clean up for you. :-)
Also, remember to stay away from the Javelina. Your guide will help with that. They're considerably smaller, so you're unlikely to mistake them for a big-a** wild pig. You need a license to hunt Javelina in Texas, and there's a limit. There's no such license requirement or limit on wild boar in Texas.
