Yes, I remember Zucky's in St. Monica. Really good, fresh bagels, as I recall! I lived in West LA area for a number of years and made it to St. Monica quite often. Do you remember Chowder Call in SM? Clam Chowder (of course) and 1- 2- or 3-alarm chili!

Bob's Big Boy has reopened in Norco, off the I-15 on the way to LV, if driving. Similar menu. Good, but not as good as the original.

Another fun hamburger place around town was Hamburger Hamlet. Not St. Monica, but maybe Westwood (?) and a few other places -- the Valley, downtown LA, Pasadena, etc. Upscale hamburgers before the concept was popular.
