When the World Trade Center was bombed on February 26, 1993 I was at a customer's office in lower Manhattan, just south of the WTC. I was in their data center at the time of the bombing. The lights flickered and the ground rumbled. Unusual for NYC, but it didn't seem like a big deal. Then the news spread around about the bombing, it was time to go home. My way home was to pick up the subway at the World Trade Center, the "E" train, to gt to the Long Island Railroad in Penn Station, to get the LIRR train to Rockville Centre. Walking up to the WTC, again their was an eerie silence. It just begun to snow, a light snow, that made you feel like the world had become surreal. I saw all the emergency vehicles at the WTC, the area was blocked off. I had to walk 5 miles to get to Penn Station for my train home, all the time wondering if there still was more to come.
