Re: USPC/Burt transition
In Response To: USPC/Burt transition ()

The gentlemen who I refer to told me it was 1947. I have archive posts here motioning the year, and years ago I had pointed out some C&S chips that may have been the last made at USPC... When, exactly, shipping of the machinery took place, I have no info, only that when he returned to work in 1947, he was in charge of the operation... After my first contact with him, I had passed on his details to another chipper living in town who visited him and probably knows more Information about when the breakdown was completed.

Whatever else USPC info I had posted here was strictly about the chips I had found back then in all forms of manufacture; unfinished C&S and errors... and embossed on the same mold; incuse lettering, stars and other designs onto the inlays. All have been sold and in collections.
