I remember when I lived in Denver in the early 1970s, one day around Christmas, it was so warm that I put the top down on my red convertible. I went up and visited a friend and when I came down a few hours later, the temp had dropped so much that when I put the top up, the rear plastic window just cracked in half.
I saw it go down to 26 below in the winter when I was in technical school at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver and had to march across the base for breakfast at 5 am.
We had electric heaters in the car radiator that we plugged in at night when it was cold and had chains on the tires for a while.
But I remember many beautiful days there, also.
Very different weather in Denver.
