I totally oppose the slabbing idea. I understand the concept, but I think in practice it destroys the fun of the hobby. I had some baseball cards I was trying to sell a while back (long while back) and I went to a show and had a couple of dealers tell me, "They are nice cards, you should get them graded." They can't do anything unless they are graded by someone. One guy said "This one might even be an 8 or 8.5." So I said OK, lets make a deal. He said "Well I can't pay you the 8.5 value, what if it comes back as a 7?" Seems pointless to be in a hobby that the value, condition and importance of an item is decided by some company that you have to pay to tell you that info.
