I know that when I purchased chips from certain members on eBay (Sheldon Smith and Doug Smith come to mind), they would include a flyer to the upcoming convention or an application to the club or a personal chip or a CCGTCC chip from a convention or the merch page (I'm not positive about that last one). In any case, it certainly wouldn't hurt if all of us that sell on eBay were to include a flyer or business card or something that had the club's website address on it. Maybe the club could purchase a set of incentive chips that could be purchased by sellers for $1 ea (or some other small amount to cover costs). The member would write their membership number in permanent ink on the chip itself (hope it doesn't wear off!) and include it with the item(s) bought by the seller, including a note about joining and a reminder that the chip is worth money! The chip would be good for $5 (or whatever amount the club feels is enough incentive to join the first year) off an initial membership (new members only). Any chip that gets physically turned in to the club nets the referring club member $5 (again, or whatever amount the board feels is worthy of the effort) off their next year's dues (or a credit in the merch store or ???). Sellers would probably want to keep track of buyers they've already sent a chip to, in order not to "waste" them, and if they make a subsequent sale to the same person, ask if they joined and turned in their chip in for the discount. That can be done by messaging the buyer or including a note/reminder in the shipment.
