Yesterday I went to the worlds longest yard sale. OK I know it does not start until Thursday but in Crossville, TN they can sell for 7 days starting yesterday so a lot of dealers set up early. I was not planning on doing a 2 day trip like I used to do years ago so fewer dealers was okay. As I was looking in one of the tents set up in the parking lot of a strip mall a guy says "Are you John?". I guess it pays to wear that "I buy casino chips" tee shirt! Bob Whiteman of the old Greg Susong Limo gang introduced himself. He was killing time while his wife was running an errand. It turns out that he is not actively collecting any more and may sell his collection.

At the sale I did buy two chips - a $.50 Playboy from the Bahamas and a $1 Diamond Tooth Gerties. I also paid $280 for almost $700 worth of gold jewelry from regular dealers. Plus a hand full of watches that need new batteries that I can sell at the antique mall. I also picked up a large jar of sourwood honey for my breakfast toast. Cindy likes doing the fancy finger nail art thing and I ran into a box of about 50 bottles of nail polish for $6 near the end of the sale. Much better than $6 per bottle. I got to within 2 miles of my final destination before giving up. It supposedly had another 100 vendors but I was just too tired to continue. I figured 8 hours of stomping around tables was just long enough for this old guy especially with a 2 hour drive to get home.
