~~~ and have been showing it many times with a full explaination of what it is and where it came from; as being a rare piece many collectors wish they had, I would think -- especially a collector from Portugal... I have asked, here, if anyone knows of the monogram, the club or where exactly in Portugal it came from.
This is what I know:
The chip was a gift from a person who was in the casino business in Portugal many years ago. It was described to me in a letter as being from "a club to the north in the 1920's."
I had searched and found nothing and mentioned that here, and the only response I had was "I can not find it, either" or something to that effect... and as far as I know it had never made its way on to ChipGuide; mostly due to my neglect to properly submit it through the proper submission form for reasons I have made known here.
At this point I would appreciatete the chip being submitted, please.
I am under the impression that it was either a private or an Illegal club... and learned years ago that there were some private clubs that catered to the British, but that remark had both positive and negative responses (everything I am saying here and the number of times I had said it is archived here).
The chip is 34 mm and described as being Club Atlantic. It is 1 Eecudo, and appears to be hand engraved. The pigment is thick and shows no signs of being animal bone or ivory.
Please enter this however you feel it should be; a chip from Portugal without exact details or an unknown chip, but do please include in the description the name is Club Atlantico, and being from Portugal.
Thank you..
