Here is my 2 cents. Based on my chips sales the first part of the year I don’t see this hobby stopping anytime soon. I have also heard many times on the board about how the younger generation Are just not into collecting chips. My thoughts on that comment is why should they be. Most don’t have years of going to casinos or the money to invest into a hobby. I will take myself as an example I stated collecting 15 years ago at the age of 30 after my first trip to Vegas. I have been gambling since I was 18 so after years of exposure the two just connected. If you take a look around any convention you will probably be a very small number of younger collectors plus this is really not a cheap hobby to begin with.
So in my opinion the hobby is not declining. The availability of online stores and eBay has made more chips available and with more competition comes lower prices. Another thing to think of how many new casinos have opened since I have stared collecting 15 years ago. Maybe some of the money once used to purchase Nevada chips has moved to other types of chipS or states.
