Before the gas prices went crazy and I was still working I would drive up to Hon-Dah to get away from summer heat for a few days. There was a motel in Show Low that the owner had built himself. There was no air conditioner in the room, but was not needed in the mountain air. To this day it is the largest hotel I have ever stayed in. Why the owner built it that large is a mystery.
