Back at home. With a nice 22 degrees in Belgium and the sun we missed last week.
First of July, the Holland Casino group opens his doors again.
The journey started on the third of July this year 2020. Departure 10 AM or 10:00 military time.
I had an appointment with a Dutch seller that after many emails was so kind to open his frame and let me buy the 200.000 Dinant Belgian flag I have been looking for. (# 00060)

He also had this beautiful 10.000 version of the 5.000 Herbesthal I submitted a couple of months ago.

His house was full of slots and he had a large collection of articles from in the 1970’s till late 1990’s.
He said he owned several casinos, like Dinant and Herbesthal and the plaques were the last ones he had. As his daughter was not interested, he was selling all casino related items.
Sadly enough I knew he was not telling me the truth, but I was looking at my 200.000 and decided not to be a conversation breaker.
He has some other plaques that I can buy if I offer him the right price. Some French and some UK casino items. Just email me if interested in the pictures.

On Sunday the fifth, after online reservation for the casino, my wife and kids went shopping and I went to Holland Casino Venlo.
This will be the last time, they are building a complete new one on the other side of Venlo.

Mouth masks were not used by staff nor by the customers. But as a kind of social distancing they put every other slot in “out of service” and just allowed three players at the roulette and the blackjack tables. At the tables plexi shields were used to separate players and staff.
Played a bit, won a bit and stopped playing. I started talking to three ladies cleaning roulette chips by hand. Wauw, a time eating job knowing every roulette has eight colors and 200 chips per color making 1.600 chips, per table.
Little did I know at that time that they washed them every day!

Apparently they liked my personality and I got a goodie bag filled with small freebee’s like a deck of cards, keychain, bottle opener, fridge magnets, ….

So, this first visit was a success. Shops closed at 17:00 so I called my wife that I was coming to them up.
