I have weird tracking situations with USPS quite often.
One recent transaction was supposed to go from Napa CA to Medford OR. Normally it ships Napa to Oakland and then to Portland or Eugene OR before coming to Medford. On this particular transaction the chip went from Napa to Bell Gardens (southern CA) and took a vacation for six days. (weather must have been nice or something) After that it went to Federal Way WA then Portland and finally to Medford.
This isn't a unique experience, I have had chips wandering all over the place and sometimes sit in locations for a week or more. The good news is they always make to my mailbox eventually. I've even had packages arrive in Medford and then leave and go back to Eugene and then come back to Medford a couple days later. Similar to what you are experiencing. I just try to be patient but it's hard when it's a chip you have been wanting for a long time.
