It would appear that the system needs to be altered.
If members don't vote they are in effect voting no on anyone and can stop
many nominees from being voted into the HOF by doing nothing.
Perhaps it should work by counting only those people who cast votes.
So if 20 people vote then there would be 60 possible votes.
I am assuming that a voter can only vote for a nominee once.
The most Yes votes that a nominee could get would be 20.
That would mean that 51% would be 11 yes votes.
So perhaps the rules should be changed so that more outstanding
members reach the HOF and are not blocked by those who choose to vote "no" by
not voting.
That would help to eliminate the politics. Not entirely but some I think.
Am I understanding and explaining this correctly.
