Remember this place from my youth in Hollywood - one of the oldest commercial building in the city - actually already something of a "dive" in the late 1950's. My mother used to say - "Do people really vacation in that place?" As I remember, it had no air conditioning. Only the buzzing of the mosquitoes' wings kept the air circulating.

There was an illegal card game there way back when. See ChipGuide # CG136243. Don't know if you can use the Hollywood Historical Society newspaper photo in the Guide, though.
