I once got a speeding ticket on the way to Atlantic City on the Garden State Parkway. I sent in the ticket (unsigned) and the required payment. I wrote a letter stating that since the court was only open during regular business hours and that the court was some distance from my home, I would have to miss a days work to answer the summons in court, which would be a financial hardship to me. Instead of appearing in court, I would agree to pay the required fine and agree to plead guilty to a non-moving violation (no points on your license). The check was cashed and I never heard from them again and no points on my license.
Better advice is to not speed. If you can't do that, make sure that there is always a car directly in front of you.
