... Jim, is not easy to determine.
I have voted in every national, state and local election since I turned 21 (the voting age in New York at the time). I have twice been (unsuccessfully) a candidate for local office (school board). I have worked as a volunteer on a local school bond campaigns (once serving simultaneously as the absentee ballot chairman, a precinct captain and election day headquarters coordinator).
I have written numerous letters to elected officials and local newspapers expressing my views on significant issues.
While in the Navy, I gave (mostly in my off-duty time) more than 100 presentations to political, civic, fraternity, service and school groups about Navy affairs.
I choose not to belong to any political party (the two party system being perhaps the worst thing that's ever happened to politics in this country). I vote for the candidates who I believe will best serve the people (sometimes Libertarian, which is my personal philosophy, but frequently for either Democrats or Republicans who appear to be the best candidates).
I served in the military for eight years. I was a deputy district attorney for ten years.
I speak my mind (as you've probably noticed). I think I've done my fair share and then some on behalf of our country. ----- jim o\-S
