354 S. Los Angeles Avenue is today the western boundary of The Toy District of Los Angeles, where inexpensive, primarily Asian, imported toys are offered. However, it was not known for imports back in the 1920's - probably something more of a skid row / industrial area. Not exactly where a casino would be based. Perhaps the Hornbein wholesale firm took on a supply of generic P-in-Diamond chips for re-sale to pharmacies and from there, for home games. P for Pharmacy? Poker? Yesss!
