CASINOS IN MADRID AND SURROUNDINGS

Today I dedicate myself to Casinos in the Madrid area. I understood that there is some confusion about the allocation of chips from these casinos that I hope is cleared up.

In 1923 the ban of gambling , was decreed by the government of Primo de Rivera .
Only in 1977 the gambling was regulated and allowed again.
The main requirement for granting licenses was that the casinos should be located in touristic areas, and could not be located in cities with more than 300,000 inhabitants, nor be located in the metropolitan areas of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao.
On February 16, 1978, 18 concessions were awarded.
The first casino to open was the Nuevo Gran Casino Kursaal in San Sebastian and the last Casino Gran Madrid, which opened in October 1981 in Torrelodones.
All casinos, with the exception of the Montes Blancos (Zaragoza), Perelada and Madrid casinos, were located along the coast.
One license was allocated to Madrid Community.
The Casino Gran Madrid was strategically placed in Torrelodones, 30 Kms from Madrid.
In 1978, the village of Torrelodones was chosen for the construction of the casino corresponding to the Madrid region, but soon afterwards, the Ministry of the Interior gave this designation. Several Madrid municipalities then fought to host the casino facilities, but finally the litigation was resolved in favor of Torrelodones, in the year 1980
The Casino Gran Madrid was officially opened on October 14, 1981, in Torrelodones
It has been the only operation in the community of Madrid, until the opening of the Gran Casino Aranjuez in 2006.
Aranjuez is about 40 kms from Madrid.
In 2013, two casinos were opened in the center of Madrid, both branches of Casinos Gran Madrid and Aranjuez.
Casino Gran Via, branch of Casino de Aranjuez and Casino Madrid (Colon), this one a branch of Casino Gran Madrid.
